We’ve all thought about it from time to time - ‘How can I be more compassionate to the world I’m living in?’ What better time to start than now…the month where there’s green all around?
It’s a phrase we’ve heard since we were little - ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ - and it’s proven to be one of the top ways to become eco-conscious and reduce waste. Here are some of Vantage Agora’s top tips on how to go green in the office:
For starters, one of the easiest ways to go green is to recycle. It’s simple and doesn’t take much effort! Just set up a few bins around your office and let your fellow colleagues know about the new initiative.
We even began our own recycling initiative at Vantage Agora, and employees have transitioned seamlessly to our mission of saving the environment.
Speaking of reducing and reusing, let’s talk about our favorite part of every morning…. coffee! Most people need that extra jolt of energy to get their workday rolling, but have you ever considered how brewing up your favorite cup of joe can be harming the environment?
Using K-cups to get that piping hot liquid joy is generally quick and efficient. Pop one in and your caffeinated goodness is ready within seconds! Sounds great for you… but not the environment. K-cups can become extremely wasteful and are not biodegradable; adding to our ever-growing landfills.
A more suitable route to get your morning kick-start is to use coffee grinds. In an effort to promote green-living, Vantage Agora has recently switched over to using coffee grinds. The office is still full of energy, without all the extra waste from K-cups!
After you’ve got your caffeine kick, you’re probably ready to start the day. A workday usually entails sifting through and sharing a multitude of documents; which can mean a lot of papers being printed off to give to fellow colleagues and clients.
Try to be conservative by printing double sided; or better yet, stick to online communication and collaboration!
